In-Person: The Art and Science of Interviewing

Description: To be able to engage another person in conversation and elicit key information
that you’re looking for is one of the most useful skills one can have in media, and indeed, life in
general. Students in this class will learn the practical techniques of interviewing and the theory
behind them. Like anything else, interviewing has do’s and don'ts, and once you can apply
these techniques comfortably, you will be able to facilitate insightful, flowing conversations which
yield the in-depth, thought-provoking answers you seek. This class is perfect for those who wish
to create documentaries, podcasts, news broadcasts, or anyone who would like to improve their
conversational science.
