Summer Media Institute Screening 2026!

Over the course of the summer, participants in the Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program (MSYEP) explored mediamaking through hands-on media production, learning the fundamentals of filmmaking from concept development and production to editing and post-production. Guided by media educators and mentors, students created original short films and community documentaries that reflect youth’s interests, perspectives, and experiences.

The final screening marks the culmination of their work and offers an opportunity for family members, friends, community partners, and the public to experience these films on the big screen. The evening will feature a selection of student-produced works followed by an opportunity to meet the young filmmakers and celebrate their accomplishments.
